Further expansion for New Zealand’s largest car retailer
New Zealand’s largest car retailer, 2 Cheap Cars, will be opening in Tauranga this weekend.
The Hewletts Road branch will give the company 10 outlets throughout New Zealand. The new branch will help 2 Cheap Cars reach forecast sales across the country of 10,000 vehicles in the current year.
2 Cheap Cars has only been in business for 3 and a half years but has already established itself as New Zealand’s biggest used car retailer and about three times larger than its nearest competitor. The company was last year a winner in the Deloitte’s Fast 50 business awards.
Company General Manager, Garry Moore, says the Bay of Plenty has been a major gap for 2 Cheap Cars.
“Given the growth and economic buoyancy of Tauranga, it is an area we have wanted a presence for some time. We are hoping that our model of offering quality affordable cars will be well received in the Bay of Plenty,” says Garry Moore.
Mr Moore says the fast growth of the company is giving far greater consumer choice.
“We’ve been able to expand quickly because we have a business model that is extremely customer focused. We are a high volume small margin business that means we are extremely competitive when it comes to price. Obviously this only works if you can underpin it with quality products and service.”
Mr Moore says the on-going success of the business is down to happy customers.
“There is absolutely no way we would be anticipating $60 million of car sales this year unless we had satisfied customers. We live in a social media world where word-of-mouth and personal recommendation is more important than ever. I am convinced that if we weren’t delivering value for our customers we wouldn’t be continuing to grow,” he says.
The 2 Cheap Cars Hewletts Road branch will be open for business on Saturday 6 June.
