Microwave Mishaps

Canstar Blue has released their latest survey into consumer satisfaction with microwaves revealing that more than half of Kiwis are irked by flatmates or family members not cleaning up their microwave messes.

The survey also discovered that:
• 23% of New Zealanders aren’t bothering to cover things before they put them in the microwave, resulting in splatter
• 61% of those surveyed use their microwave more than their oven
• Eighty eight per cent of New Zealanders say that their microwave is an essential appliance in their kitchens
• A quarter of Aucklanders admit to often burning their mouths on things they heat in the microwave
• 7% of New Zealanders admitted to damaging their appliance by putting metal in it or by heating up something unsuitable
• More than a quarter of Kiwis are worried about the perceived health risks associated with microwave use
• 74% of those surveyed use their microwave every day
