Air New Zealand adds further Wellington flights this weekend
Air New Zealand has announced it will operate even more flights to the capital this weekend with additional services to and from both Auckland and Christchurch adding more than 250 seats for rugby fans.
Yesterday the airline announced it will pull in an international Boeing 767 jet to operate a special service from Dunedin to get fans to Saturday’s Super Rugby final, as well as two additional A320 services back to Dunedin on Sunday and Monday.
Air New Zealand Chief Marketing and Customer Officer Mike Tod says the extra services have proven very popular and with demand still high the airline has now pulled some strings to offer customers even more Wellington bound seats.
“We will operate an additional 68 seat ATR service from Auckland to Wellington on Saturday afternoon, returning Sunday. We can also now offer an additional 50 seat Q300 service from Christchurch to Wellington on Saturday morning, and an extra 68 seat ATR service to get fans back to Christchurch on Sunday.
“We know there are plenty of crazy about rugby fans of both teams who live further afield than just Dunedin and Wellington. These additional services offer them more options for getting to the game this weekend.”
The additional services will go on sale this afternoon.
