Holiday home rental company looking at double digit growth

Holiday home rental company looking at double digit growth.

As the snow falls the demand for holiday home rentals in the Ruapehu region grows.

Bachcare, New Zealand’s leading holiday home rental management company, has reported a significant increase in booking and listing activity in the Ruapehu region, with over 50% increase in forward bookings for the remainder of the ski season.

Bachcare is seeing more and more people booking houses for ski holidays, with the benefits of extra space and the ability to self-cater attracting guests from around New Zealand, Australia, and even further afield.

Leslie Preston, Bachcare founder and managing director, said that they are seeing strong demand for house rentals around the Ruapehu region.

“Enquiries have spiked since the snow started falling and school holidays drag on. The ski fields are in great shape and we are looking forward to a busy season!”

Bachcare is now the largest provider in the Mt Ruapehu ski area with over 120 houses in the Ruapehu region alone, and a further 160 in nearby Taupo. Their properties and rental guests are cared for by a dedicated and growing local team of 12 Holiday Managers in National Park, Taupo, Acacia Bay, Ohakune, Horopito, Turangi, Omori, Kuratau and Pukawa Bay.

“Renting ski gear and purchasing lift passes, meals and accommodation can add up. For groups and families, holiday homes can be an economical option, especially in areas where peak season demand can see prices much higher than other times of the year. Ultimately, we would love to see families and groups enjoying multiple visits each ski season, and economical accommodation is an important part of that,” says Ms Preston.

Simon Dickson, Executive Manager, Commercial for Ruapehu Alpine Lifts said, “If you combine our popular Discover learners’ package with booking a holiday home, a family ski holiday is an easy and affordable option. More snow is forecast for the week which is fantastic for the remainder of the school holidays and beyond.”

With large and growing demand in the Ruapehu region for self-contained accommodation, particularly from families and ski groups, there is also ample opportunity for holiday home owners to generate some rental income from their often under-utilized asset.

NZ owned Bachcare’s success has blossomed due to the ability to take care of all the details on behalf of their owners, delivering peace of mind and maximised rental returns. Their centralised Support Office staffed 7-days per week processes bookings, payments, and guest enquiries on behalf of owners. Plus, their extensive marketing reach provides global and domestic rental opportunities for their owners.

Leading the way in owner and guest services, Bachcare take care of all the cleaning and linen servicing, property maintenance, the meeting and greeting of guests, guest emergency call-outs, and ensure each and every holiday home under Bachcare’s management is cared for like their own.
