YouTube sensations now on Emirates in-flight entertainment

Step out of selected Emirates flights with a new hairdo with YouTube sensations ‘Cute Girls Hairstyles’ and ‘Brooklyn & Bailey’

16 July 2015 – Kiwi passengers travelling on one of Emirates three daily A380 services from Auckland to Dubai, via Australia, can now step off the plane with a whole new look after watching YouTube channels ‘Cute Girls Hairstyles’ and ‘Brooklyn & Bailey’ on Emirates’ award-winning ice entertainment system.

The famous YouTube channels ‘Cute Girls Hairstyles’ and ‘Brooklyn & Bailey’, known for their hairstyle tutorials, fashion and beauty vlogs, have more than 5 million subscribers and more than half a billion views combined on YouTube.

Families can watch seven episodes from Brooklyn & Bailey’s YouTube channel on the Emirates in-flight entertainment system – ice Digital Widescreen – on channel #1479. Cute Girls Hairstyles’ YouTube channel will debut on Emirates next month.

Passengers can watch both channels on the ice Digital Widescreen, the latest Emirates’ in-flight entertainment system on all Airbus A380s, Boeing 777-200LRs and selected Boeing 777-300ERs.

By August, there will be a total of six YouTube channels available on ice Digital Widescreen including Dude Perfect and Crash Course. Emirates is one of the few airlines that gives its passengers the option to watch selected YouTube channels, in addition to more than 2,000 channels that are offered on its in-flight entertainment system. Passengers travelling from New Zealand can enjoy award-winning film, What We Do in the Shadows, written, directed by and starring Flight of the Conchords’ Jemaine Clement and Boy’s Taika Waititi, as well as Peter Jackson’s Hobbit and Lord of the Ringstrilogies.

It is the first time that Cute Girls Hairstyles and Brooklyn & Bailey’s YouTube channels appear on an airline entertainment system.

Family Entertainment on Emirates this Summer

From July, young travellers on Emirates will also receive new headsets on which they can enjoy up to 75 channels of dedicated children’s entertainment from up to 2,000 channels overall. These fun and colourful new headsets will also have larger speakers for a more comfortable fit and much improved sound quality.

Emirates offers a wide variety of family and children’s programming including the very best movies and television from Disney, Cartoon Network, CBeebies and Nickelodeon channels plus much more:

CTV & Skysurfers

The brainchild behind Cute Girls Hairstyles (www.youtube.com/CuteGirlsHairstyles) is Mindy McKnight, an American mother of six who started uploading weekly YouTube videos of creative hairdos since 2009. Her twin daughters, Brooklyn and Bailey (www.youtube.com/BrooklynAndBailey) have a channel of their own.

In March, the popular YouTube family from Texas visited Dubai where thousands of fans gathered at their meet-and-greet session. Emirates also invited them to the Emirates Aviation College – Crew Training where they were presented with the ‘how-tos’ of the Emirates’ cabin crew hairdos – the bun and the French twist.
