ARANZ Medical wins at AmCham Awards

CHRISTCHURCH, NZ., 21 August, 2015 – ARANZ Medical has been named an Exporter of the Year in the 2015 AmCham-DHL Express Success and Innovation Awards, held in conjunction with Hawaiian Airlines. The American Chamber of Commerce Awards, now into their 16th year, celebrate the success and innovation of New Zealand companies doing business with the USA.

ARANZ Medical (www.aranzmedical.com) designs and manufactures 3D scanning and information systems that transform clinical processes in skin assessment to improve health outcomes in wound care and orthotics/ prosthetics.

ARANZ Medical CEO Dr Bruce Davey says, “We are delighted to have the success of our team acknowledged by the American Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand. A big part of our success has been due to our rapid growth in the US market. Our clients now include some of the largest health providers in the US, which is a very important healthcare market worldwide.”

Mike Hearn, Executive Director for AmCham says, “ARANZ Medical is growing fast in the US market, driven by increases in diseases like diabetes, an ageing population, and more accountable healthcare. The judges were impressed with the strategy adopted by the company along with their demonstrated commitment to innovation and growth in the US market.”

ARANZ Medical’s innovations are sold to over 30 countries and include Silhouette, an FDA-approved electronic wound assessment system, and FastSCAN, a 3D scanning system for orthotics and prosthetics.

“Our solutions offer an evidence-based response to the increasing prevalence of wounds associated with chronic illnesses like diabetes, and an ageing population. A growing emphasis on accountable healthcare and trends such as telehealth are also stimulating demand for our technology,” Dr Davey says.

Dr Davey acknowledged support from New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and Callaghan Innovation in helping ARANZ Medical to achieve its success. The company has a sales and support office in the US to support demand for ARANZ Medical’s innovation.
