The ANZ Business Confidence & Own Activity figures for August have just been released. They came in worse than expected overall.

The Business Confidence fell sharply compared with the previous quarter:

-29.1% versus -15.3% in July

The Business Own Activity numbers also dropped compared with the previous quarter:

+12.2% versus 19.0% in July

The NZD is lower in immediate response.

Current indicative levels are:

NZDAUD 0.8985 / 0.9010
NZDEUR 0.5715 / 0.5740
NZDGBP 0.4155 / 0.4180
NZDJPY 77.75 / 78.00
