New Deloitte corporate finance partner

New Deloitte corporate finance partner brings mergers and acquisitions advisory expertise to role

Deloitte has announced the appointment of John Marker as a new corporate finance partner and national infrastructure and capital projects lead.

Mr Marker has extensive corporate finance experience built over 20 years’ working in senior leadership roles. He brings deep mergers and acquisitions (M&A) advisory expertise, particularly in the infrastructure space, to his new role.

Mr Marker joins Deloitte from Rockpoint Corporate Finance Ltd, an investment banking and broking business he co-found in 2007. Prior to his time at the helm of Rockpoint, Mr Marker’s impressive CV includes roles at blue chip investment banking firms Macquarie Bank and HRL Morrison & Co as well as experience in the professional services industry.

Deloitte CEO Thomas Pippos says the ability to attract top notch talent of Mr Marker’s calibre underpins Deloitte’s continued growth in the New Zealand market and its reputation as an employer of choice in the professional services industry.

“John’s recruitment will help us grow our corporate finance footprint in the market and further build on our reputation in the provision of transaction and advisory services in the infrastructure space,” says Mr Pippos.

Mr Marker says Deloitte provides a good cultural fit and aligns well with his personal values.

“Deloitte has built a strong corporate finance team delivering a broad spectrum of M&A advisory services which span the market from helping small growing businesses to sophisticated deal making and capital arrangement at the large corporate end,” says Mr Marker.
