New Event to Celebrate Business Awards Finalists
New Event to Celebrate Business Awards Finalists from 1994-2015
Organisers of the Electra Kapiti Horowhenua Business Awards have teamed up with Whitireia NZ to launch a new Business Awards ‘winners and finalists’ function. And every business that was a winner or finalist over the 21 year history of the Awards is invited.
It is planned that the inaugural function, being hosted by Whitireia at its Kapiti Campus on 20 October, will become an annual networking event that brings together some of the most successful business people from across the Kapiti-Horowhenua region.
Chris Gosling, Chief Executive of Whitireia says they are proud to be hosting the function. “This new event will bring together some of our region’s best business people. The hope is that this will inspire conversations and generate ideas that lead to new business opportunities and, as a result, new employment opportunities for our students.”
Chair of Business Kapiti Horowhenua (BKH), Mark Ternent is also excited by the new initiative. “Creating a networking event for ambitious and successful business people has the potential to generate significant positive impact for our region. Imagine the business opportunities that could be uncovered when you bring people of that calibre together to share their experiences and exchange ideas.”
The event is open to any business that has been a winner or a finalist in the Business Awards at any time during its 21 year history.
“We’ve felt for some time that this is the one part of our annual programme that’s been missing,” explains Mr Ternent. “We’ve always done a great job of celebrating with the winners and finalists in the year they enter the Awards, but we didn’t have anything that spanned the Awards history and brought our ‘Awards family’ together each year.”
Email invitations have now been sent to most of the past winners and finalists, but Mark Ternent admits that contact details for some of businesses involved in the early years of the Business Awards may be out of date or missing.
“So please, if you were a winner or a finalist in the Awards at any time over the last 21 years and you haven’t received your email invitation to this event yet, let us know,” he says. “Even if you can’t make the event this year, we’ll be able to contact you about the 2016 event.”
Past winners and finalists who haven’t received their invitation to the new Business Awards Winners and Finalists Event on 20 October are encouraged to contact the Awards organisers by email at:awards@bkh.org.nz.
