Deane Sloan appointed to Equinox IT General Manager Wellington
Equinox IT is delighted to announce that Deane Sloan has been appointed to the position of General Manager Wellington. Deane was earlier this year appointed to Wellington Services Manager and with his latest appointment now takes on full responsibility for Equinox IT’s commercial operations and services in Wellington including consulting, software development and training.
Deane joined Equinox IT in 2000 as a software development specialist and over the years has contributed to many parts of our business including roles as a performance tester, principal architecture consultant, and our chief technology officer (a role he still retains today). In 2011 Deane was appointed to the position of Software Development Director where he transitioned our software development teams to become leaders in Lean and Agile software development approaches and helped those teams consistently deliver agreed outcomes on tough client software development projects.
“Deane has always looked for different, new and better ways to tackle tough problems, so as part of his development in 2013 he attended the acclaimed d.school (Institute of Design) at Stanford University to extend his design thinking knowledge and to introduce new and better ways for his development team to deliver services” said Equinox IT Managing Director Roger Dalgleish. “His focus on continuous improvement, building consultant capability and introducing innovative approaches has enabled him and his teams to deliver outstanding results to our clients. His appointment to General Manager Wellington is well deserved.”
Commenting on his appointment, Deane said “we have always prided ourselves in delivering services to our clients that are pragmatic and right-sized for New Zealand conditions. The IT and business landscape is significantly changing at the moment, it is exciting, and creates an opportunity for Equinox IT to ensure that we continue to deliver excellent services that are relevant for our client’s needs both today and into the future.”
