Fonterra Shareholders Reminded to Vote in
Elections
Four days of voting remain in
Fonterra’s 2015 Elections and the Co-operative’s
Shareholders are being encouraged to have their say on who
is best placed to govern and represent their interests.
Shareholders are asked to elect three Directors to the Fonterra Board, and Shareholders in Wards 14 (Eastern Bay of Plenty), 17 (Northern Taranaki), 23 (Hawke’s Bay) and 26 (Tasman/Marlborough) will also be voting for their preferred Shareholders’ Council candidate.
Returning Officer, Warwick Lampp says approximately 38% of votes have been cast so far and has called for Farmers to bring forward their voting timetable and not wait for the last minute.
“I would like to encourage Shareholders to take this
opportunity to exercise their right to vote as soon as
possible.
“At this stage, Shareholders should use
internet voting to ensure their votes are received before
the deadline. Voting papers sent via NZ Post are unlikely to
arrive in time, and therefore won’t be counted. Online
voting is quick and easy and is maximised for smartphones
and tablets.”
Voting closes at 10.30am on Monday, 23 November 2015. Any Shareholder who has lost or not received their Voting Pack should contact the Returning Officer immediately for a replacement on the Election Hotline free phone 0800 666 034.
The Election results will be announced on the afternoon of Monday, 23 November 2015. All successful candidates will take office at the close of the Annual Meeting.
Shareholders are also reminded that they can appoint a proxy, or vote online or by fax in respect of the Annual Meeting resolutions up until10.30am on Monday, 23 November.
Shareholders can also attend and vote in person for the Annual Meeting resolutions only at the Annual Meeting on Wednesday, 25 November 2015 at the Fonterra Waitoa UHT site.
Any queries regarding the Fonterra Elections should be directed to the Election Hotline on free phone 0800 666 034.
