The Coffee Club Arrives at Booming Christchurch Shopping Centre “The Hub Hornby”

The Coffee Club New Zealand has opened the doors to The Coffee Club The Hub in Hornby, Christchurch. The store, which brings the number in The Coffee Club NZ group to 57, has a prime spot in The Hub Hornby’s outside shopping precinct, adjoining The Hub Mall, a rapidly expanding shopping centre in west Christchurch.

Owner Jimmy Mao originally worked at The Coffee Club Riccarton, alongside his wife, Yuki. Though he enjoyed being part of the team, he always dreamed of owning his own store and jumped at the opportunity when he learned of the plans to launch one in The Hub.

“The Hub has so much potential – the western side of Christchurch has developed rapidly since the earthquakes and The Hub is perfectly located to service those areas,” explains Jimmy. “The Hub itself has expanded with new shops and a brand new food court going in recently. It’s the ideal place for The Coffee Club to be. We’re sure it’ll be very popular with busy shoppers wanting a break, especially in the run up to Christmas or locals keen to catch up with friends over a meal or a cup of coffee.”

The Coffee Club co-directors, Brad Jacobs and Andy Lucas, are both pleased to have Jimmy and Yuki on board as franchisees.

“I’ve known Jimmy for a while now and was thrilled when he told me that he wanted to take the next step and become a franchisee,” says Brad. “When we shared our plans to open in The Hub, he was certain that it was the store for him – he could see how much promise the mall and Hornby area held. We’re sure that he, Yuki and the rest of The Coffee Club The Hub team will do a fantastic job. We’re looking forward to supporting them as much as we can.”

The Coffee Club The Hub is fully licensed and has a breakfast, brunch and lunch menu that can be ordered from at any time of the day. The space can seat 116 people over both indoor and outdoor dining.

The Coffee Club The Hub is open 7am - 6pm from Monday to Friday, then 8am – 6pm on Saturday and Sunday. It can be found at Shop 1, 19 Chalmers St, Hornby, Christchurch.
