The NZ Racing Board to spread some racing joy

The NZ Racing Board to spread some racing joy at Ronald McDonald House Charites Wellington

The New Zealand Racing Board (NZRB) are coming to Ronald McDonald House Charites (RMHC) on Tuesday 26th June to play some games, cook a meal and even offer rides on a miniature pony for the children staying at RMHC in Wellington.

The staff at the NZRB are taking time out of their busy schedules following Wellington Cup Day on the 23rd of January and just before the Interislander Summer Festival on 30th of January at Trentham, to bring some fun and joy to the families staying at RMHC.

The NZRB really understand the importance of family and have partnered up with RMHC for the Interislander Summer Festival – a family day out at the races. In collaboration with the TAB, the NZRB have created the Hot Summer Selection to help raise essential funds for the charity.

The NZRB have also chosen to visit the House and meet some of the families they are supporting and offer them a great distraction from their current medical journeys.

RMHC provides stability and resources to New Zealand families through services such as the Ronald McDonald House programme, which operates in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Providing accommodation facilities to ensure Kiwi families can remain close to their hospitalised child and alleviate some of the practical, emotional and financial burdens a family can face when forced to relocate to another city for their child’s medical treatment.

In 2015 alone RMHC accommodated and cared for over 3,500 families from all across the country.

If you would like to attend the event please contact Anthony Butler on 04 830 2905 or Anthonyb@rmhw.org.nz.
