Last Gift to Wellington Women From Kirkcaldie And Stains
One of Kirkcaldie and Stains last generous gifts to Wellington women has been giving almost $10,000 worth of stock to not-for-profit organisation Dress for Success Wellington.
The various items generously donated will be provided to women referred to the Dress for Success ‘dressing programme’. The programme focuses on assisting unemployed women prepare to secure employment by providing a full set of interview clothing, grooming assistance and professional interview preparation assistance.
“What a hugely generous gift from the Board of Kirkcaldie and Stains. This gift will make a real difference to the lives of many Wellington women as they prepare to secure economic independence for themselves and their families,” said Jane Fanselow-Price, Dress for Success Wellington’s Board president.
Dress for Success is an international not-for-profit organisation that helps women on their path to work. Dress for Success has been operating in New Zealand since 1999 – empowering New Zealand women to continually shape their own destiny- transforming themselves, their families and their communities.
“As a not-for-profit organisation, we are always extremely grateful for donations of new or good quality used clothing and accessories. We also welcome new volunteers and of course monetary contributions, that will help support the work we undertake. As a charity we rely on the support of the community to support women on their path to employment and donations such as this from Kirkcaldie and Stains allow us to support more women. ” says Mrs Fanselow-Price.
Kirkcaldie and Stains, the ‘Grand Old Lady of Wellington’, closed its doors last month after almost 153 years of trading.
