Six New Senior Solicitors And One New Senior Legal Advisor at Chapman Tripp

Chapman Tripp is pleased to announce the promotion of six new senior solicitors and one new senior legal advisor in the firm’s Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch offices. The appointments are effective from 1 March 2016.

New senior solicitors

Philip Ascroft, Corporate, Auckland

Philip specialises in corporate and securities law with a particular focus on equity capital markets. Philip acts for issuers, arrangers and underwriters on all aspects of IPOs and capital raisings. He also advises on mergers and acquisitions, takeovers and other corporate law issues, including listed company compliance and corporate governance.

Megan Pearce, Corporate, Auckland

Megan advises a wide range of clients in the private and public sectors on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters. She specialises in the energy, infrastructure, IT and telecommunications sectors and is experienced in drafting a wide range of commercial arrangements including supplying networked products and services to wholesale and retail markets. Megan has also advised a number of clients on New Zealand consumer protection law and corporate restructuring.

Ellen Thomson, Corporate, Wellington

Ellen is a corporate lawyer specialising in regulatory and competition law. She works closely with clients across a wide range of regulated industries, including the telecommunications, energy and airport sectors. Ellen also advises clients in relation to merger control and enforcement matters.

Russell Weir, Corporate, Auckland

Russell advises clients on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters focusing on capital raisings, business acquisitions and corporate advisory work. His experience includes advising New Zealand and offshore clients in acquisitions and partnering arrangements, property syndications and corporate governance and listed company work.

Lauren Adams, Litigation, Auckland/Christchurch

Lauren specialises in litigation and dispute resolution, with experience in insurance, health and safety and employment disputes. She acts for clients on professional indemnity, statutory, general and products liability claims; health and safety investigations and proceedings; employment contracts, policies and disputes; and commercial disputes. Lauren also advises on policy response and indemnity across a wide range of liability insurance products.

Kellie Arthur, Litigation, Auckland

Kellie specialises in litigation and dispute resolution, with experience in a broad range of disputes, including reinsurance matters, commercial property disputes, and general contract and tort issues. Kellie is particularly interested in the conduct of complex commercial dispute resolution, including domestic and international arbitration.

New senior legal advisor

Luke Bowers, Corporate, Auckland*

Luke specialises in corporate and securities law, focusing on mergers and acquisitions. He advises clients on a wide range of corporate transactions, including private mergers and acquisitions, takeovers, joint ventures, reorganisations and capital raisings. Luke also advises clients on regulatory matters, including issues arising under the overseas investment regime and the Takeovers Code.
