Food and Bioanalytical clients of New Zealand's leading analytical testing laboratory, Hill Laboratories, will be working closely with some new faces, following two recent company appointments.
Sam Marengo and Ili Tulagi have been appointed as key account managers within Hill Laboratories’ Food and Bioanalytical sector. Although based in Hamilton, the women travel the country to liaise with Food and Bioanalytical clients.
“In short, we guide clients on the best testing to meet their needs. Key industries for us include honey, horticulture, aquaculture and other food producers” Sam said.
Together, the women have more than three decades of laboratory experience behind them.
Marengo worked for ten years as a scientist in New Zealand, Australia, England and Brazil. She moved from England to New Zealand last year to work for Hill Laboratories as a technologist, developing the company’s gluten testing methodology before accepting the key account manager position.
Sam said her decade as a scientist has aptly set the scene for her new role as key account manager.
“Working with Hill Laboratories’ clients is great. I am supported by a fantastic team of development scientists who are able to solve client issues and help them with their businesses.”
Tulagi’s history at Hill Laboratories stems back even further. She joined Hill Laboratories 13 years ago after moving from Fiji, and has experience in the Agriculture and Food and Bioanalytical sectors.
“I worked as a Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) study director within Hill Labs’ Food and Bioanalytical sector for three years, before accepting this role.
“Now, as a key account manager, I liaise between customers and the laboratory to ensure clients receive the support and service their business requires,” she said.
Across the company’s different sectors Hill Laboratories has 20 client service manager roles, dedicated solely to working directly with customers.
“Hill Laboratories aims to give customers a great experience. If there’s ever testing we’re not currently doing, but there’s a need in the market, then it’s possible for us to set up. So long as it’s sustainable ongoing,” Sam said.
Hill Laboratories is a 100 per cent privately owned New Zealand analytical testing laboratory and has three major testing areas: Agriculture, Environmental and Food.
With its head office in Hamilton, Hill Laboratories currently has five sites in the North Island, and two in the South Island.
