As winter nears

As winter nears

As the winter season quickly approaches, it's important to take extra precautions and be vigilant with safety.

• Make sure you have an adequate number of smoke alarms throughout your house and test them regularly
• Check all electric blankets for fraying and damaged cords. Get them tested if in any doubt.
• Make sure that all electric heaters are further than one metre off other objects and that no flammable material is nearby, especially children’s clothing and dressing gowns.
• Do not piggyback cords and overload double adapters or power boards
• If you have a fire place make sure the chimney is kept clean. Ensure there is a screen in front of it.
