Not another effing PR firm

Not another effing PR firm

Lou Draper and David Cormack have joined forces to create the Draper Cormack Group. Not just another PR firm but an awesome fusion of corporate reputation management and making amazing content for organisations' and personal brands.

After eight years as a sole practitioner, Lou has opened her doors to David joining her as they have created a firm that doesn't just want to make organisations look good in the news, but look and work well everywhere.

Lou was ready to expand her business and was looking for someone to join her in creating a new company. David had stepped in for Lou's client work last year when Lou took time out to look after her tiny 5-week old son when he came down with viral meningitis.

"I'm stoked I have someone to share the load with. As everyone who has done it knows, being in business is really hard and last year when I needed him, David showed he knew what's up. And he takes instruction from women in business really well," said Draper.

David has spent over a decade in the communications industry, ranging from consultancy to public service to NGO and even a stint in Parliament, but the idea of managing his own firm was one he was always keen on pursuing.

"When Lou came to me with an offer to join with her and create something new and exciting, it was too good an offer to refuse. Lou is the perfect business partner, she complements my skillset and is just brilliant at dealing with personal brand and media relations," said Cormack.

"We really want to focus on helping people and organisation's reputation. It's a massive asset for organisations but because you can't hold it in your hands people forget about it.

"Companies spend heaps on phones and computers, but not many spend anything on their reputation. A broken computer can be sent to a repair shop and come back good as new in a few days, but a damaged reputation can take a lot longer to repair and do a lot more damage to your organisation," said Cormack.

"Stopping it from reaching that broken point is one way to deal with it, but having a shiny beautiful reputation is the best way," said Draper.

The pair are wanting to help anyone who wants to work on knowing and improving their reputation.

"Wellington has so many industries that are starting to boom. The tech and angel investment sectors for example are becoming massive with some phenomenal success stories that we want to help people tell."
