Reassurance for Christchurch residents

Reassurance for Christchurch residents after 5.7 magnitude earthquake

Tunstall Healthcare, Australasia’s leading connected care provider, has been selected by Linrose Retirement Village, to refresh their emergency call system for village residents.

Locally owned by the Archer Trust, Linrose Village is an independent-living, lifestyle retirement village located in Linwood, Christchurch and offers 30 licenced residences.

General Manager of Archer, Graeme Mitchell, said it was an easy decision to make the switch to Tunstall from their previous alarm service provider.

“We were looking to upgrade our emergency monitoring service in the village without increasing costs for residents,” said Mr Mitchell.

“Our new medical alarms have greater coverage than our previous equipment, which is reassuring for our residents to know that help will be accessible, even out in the garden.

“The new emergency call system is simple for our residents to manage and the incident and emergency reports from the monitoring centre keep our village staff informed.

“Another key benefit of the Tunstall system is that it’s monitored 24/7 locally in Tauranga, with a call continuity procedure for disaster recovery to Australia, reassuring our residents that help will always be available at the press of a button.”

Tunstall New Zealand General Manager, Stephen Murray, said he was pleased to provide residents with an upgraded emergency alarm solution they could rely on now and into the future.

“We worked closely with Archer to provide a dependable solution and ensure a smooth transition for residents,” said Mr Murray.

Mr Mitchell commended the efforts of the local Tauranga monitoring centre staff to minimise the transition impact on village residents.

“I was very impressed with Tunstall’s customer service and the personalised attention that we received during the negotiation stage and implementation.

“Residents have told me that they enjoy the engagement of the Tunstall care consultants, who are always helpful, welcoming and friendly.

“This was especially felt after the severe magnitude 5.7 earthquake hit Christchurch in February, where the Tunstall care consultants called each resident to make sure they were okay,” said Mr Mitchell.

Thorrington Village, Archer’s latest edition to the family, located in Port Hills, will also transition to the Tunstall monitoring service over the coming months.
