Kiwis getting behind this
year’s St John annual appeal
There
are even more ways for Kiwis to get behind the St John
annual appeal this year thanks to an exciting new
partnership between Z Energy and St John.
This year’s annual appeal, which kicks off today and runs through until Sunday, 10 April, will see Z service stations around the country selling ‘ambulance’ first aid plasters, with all proceeds going directly to St John.
Z’s Community Manager, Christine Langdon, says the decision to stock the ambulance plasters is just one of a number of exciting initiatives to come out of Z’s recent partnership with St John.
“Here at Z, we’re committed to looking after our communities, and given the amazing work St John does for communities right across the country, we reckon our partnership with St John is the perfect fit.
“In addition to supporting their annual appeal with the sale of the new ‘ambulance’ first aid plasters in our Z service stations across New Zealand, we’re also really excited about our decision to purchase and install more than 200 defibrillators across New Zealand.
”We know that early access to defibrillators significantly increase the chance of someone surviving a cardiac arrest, so we’re pleased to be able to play a key role in making this life-saving technology accessible to even more Kiwis.”
St John Chief Executive, Peter Bradley, says New Zealand has a relatively low rate of public access to defibrillators.
“Early defibrillation has the potential to double or treble the survival rate from cardiac arrest, and we support any initiative to make this life-saving technology more publicly available.”
“Our partnership with Z allows us to make the most of their nationwide service station network and place defibrillators in easy to find locations all over New Zealand.”
The St John annual appeal week runs from Monday 4 April through until Sunday, 10 April. The first aid plasters are already on sale at Z services stations and will be available while stocks last.
