Wynyard Appoints Sir Iain Lobban as Strategic Adviser on Cyber Security for Its Commercial Customers
4 April 2016, London – Wynyard Group today announced it has appointed Sir Iain Lobban KCMG CB, former Director of the British intelligence agency GCHQ, as Strategic Adviser on Cyber Security. Sir Iain will provide strategic advice to Wynyard’s commercial customers.
Sir Iain was Director of GCHQ – the Government Communications Headquarters – between 2008 and 2014 having previously served as Director General of Operations from 2004. Cyber security, both in the UK and internationally, was a major focus of Sir Iain’s tenure at GCHQ.
Wynyard CEO Craig Richardson said the appointment of Sir Iain is a coup for the company and his expert advice will greatly benefit Wynyard’s commercial customers and will help Wynyard advance its market leading Advanced Cyber Threat Analytics (ACTA) technology.
“Sir Iain has deep experience working with governments and private companies across the world to keep information, technology and critical national infrastructures safe. His security and cyber intelligence experience will be invaluable to chief executives concerned with high consequence cyber threats.”
Sir Iain Lobban said: "Cyber threats are rife, compromises commonplace, the consequences far-reaching. Advanced cyber analytics solutions such as Wynyard’s ACTA can be a game changer. It allows business leaders to make the most of one of the key advantages that they possess: expert knowledge of their own networks, how they function and when they've been corrupted. This puts organisations in a strong position to defend their networks against bad actors constantly looking for a vulnerability to exploit."
