Greentree Opens Up User Deployment Options

Greentree Opens Up User Deployment Options with Global Greentree as a Service Launch

Auckland, 6 April 2016 - Greentree International, a leading provider of business management software, has today announced the global launch of its Software-as-a-Service offering, Greentree as a Service (GaaS). It is a true SaaS solution enabling organisations to run their entire Greentree system in the cloud as well as being able to scale-up and scale-down the user base as required.

GaaS is a natural extension of Greentree’s ERP software which has been hosted in the cloud since 2002. With the launch of GaaS, Greentree now offers New Zealand organisations three deployment methods for its ERP solution: on-premise, cloud-hosted and as-a-service. This allows Greentree’s current and future customers to choose the deployment method that best supports their business goals.

“In building GaaS we have looked to create the best possible software-as-a-service experience for the mid-market ERP customer. This means providing the full functionality and configurability that the Greentree4 ERP software currently delivers to on-premise and cloud-hosted customers, as a bundled, user-based, monthly subscription; GaaS includes software, cloud hosting, maintenance and a range of other services,” said Peter Dickinson, CEO, Greentree International.

In addition, GaaS users will benefit from a single tenant hosting environment, delivered through a high performance cloud platform, optimised for supporting ERP deployments.

Analyst firm Gartner predicts that 33 per cent of New Zealand and Australian CIOs will prioritise Cloud as their second area of new IT spending in 2016 while 17 per cent will prioritise ERP as their fourth area of new IT spending in 2016 ahead of categories such IT security, CRM, networking and legacy modernisation.

According to Dickinson the ERP mid-market has been slow to engage with cloud-based deployment. “For most mid-market enterprises, their business management systems are absolutely mission-critical,” he says. “Most companies have made a significant investment in legacy systems and data and are quite rightly cautious when engaging with new technology platforms.

“But we are now seeing the balance swing in favour of the convenience, flexibility and minimal upfront capital requirements that SaaS offers. This is matched by cloud performance now meeting the high-volume processing, security and risk-management profile the mid-market demands.”

“Experience tells us that the SaaS user-based licencing will be particularly appealing to those that are new to ERP and are looking to rapidly scale their business,” he says. “It is also a great starting point for those that want to get their ERP journey underway immediately, without having to wait to get the required physical infrastructure in place.

“With GaaS, customers get to select the functionality they want from the Greentree4 product portfolio. It isn’t in any way shape or form a ‘light’ offering – it is simply another way to conveniently deploy our software.”

As with the other Greentree Software deployment methods, GaaS is available through the Greentree partner community, many of which specialise in specific vertical markets, including services, distribution, aged care and not-for-profit operations.

Greentree continues to be globally recognised as one of the most innovative yet stable software vendors in the ERP space. It continues a remarkable evolution of the company that dates back to the 1980s, and now spans across the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and the US.
