Gallagher Recognised for Commitment to Export Markets
HAMILTON, NEW ZEALAND – Gallagher, the leading provider of Animal Management, Security and Fuel Systems solutions, today announced that the company has been named a finalist in the Westpac Exporter of the Year category at the 2016 Air New Zealand Cargo ExportNZ Awards.
Based in Auckland, the ExportNZ Awards have been recognising Kiwi ingenuity, innovation, and export success since 2009 and is today among the most important awards of its type.
“This accolade is recognition of our continued commitment to offshore growth. We’re focused on staying tuned into the needs of each of our export markets, and for us this means being true to our core value of being ‘customer inspired’. We work hard to understand our customers and find previously unthought of ways to solve their needs through innovation – it’s been our core philosophy and long term competitive advantage since it all started back in the 1930’s” commented Steve Tucker, Gallagher’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director.
Catherine Lye, ExportNZ Manager – Waikato and Auckland, was delighted with the range of finalists, she commented, “These awards are designed to give recognition to our exporting community, and acknowledge the hard yards they have put in to help transform our economy. This year’s awards will showcase a cross-section of some of our most ingenious and innovative businesses”.
Gallagher’s Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, Sir William Gallagher, spends approximately six months of the year travelling internationally to build and develop export business. To date, Sir William has visited over 135 countries, and has active plans to touch down in many of the remaining regions.
The company has three manufacturing sites in New Zealand – and offshore subsidiaries in Melbourne (Australia), Kansas City (United States), Nuneaton (United Kingdom), Johannesburg (South Africa) and Owen Sound (Canada).
The 2016 awards will be presented at a black-tie gala dinner on Thursday, June 23 at The Langham Hotel, Auckland.
