Customer loyalty #1 for Taranaki business leaders
Customer loyalty #1 for Taranaki business leaders
Research released by Yellow today shows strong financial results are not the number one measure of success for Taranaki business leaders.
87 per cent of Taranaki businesses surveyed consider high customer satisfaction and loyalty as the top measure of their business’ success followed by a positive reputation in the community – 52 per cent.
Only 39 per cent of business leaders surveyed rated strong financial results as the most important measure of business success.
The research, conducted by Nielsen*, surveyed 417 business leaders in the Taranaki area, across a range of industries in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.
The results have been released in the lead up to Yellow’s annual event series – The Biz® –free events focused on helping businesses succeed in their local region.
Yellow CEO Michael Boersen said that Taranaki businesses are on the right path with their views, as the research shows businesses in the region are achieving growth.
“80 per cent of respondents said they were profitable in the last 12 months and over 50 per cent say they acquired more customers.
“To encourage customer loyalty businesses need to reach and engage with the local market to understand their needs. With this year’s The Biz we’re bringing a high calibre of business leaders to Taranaki – both local and national – with a focus on connecting with local markets for success.”
Hunter Powell Investments and the New Zealand SME Business Network will also be supporting The Biz this year.
“With over 20 years’ experience growing businesses, including in his role as CEO of NZ Rental Group for over 6 years, we’re thrilled to have Tenby Powell, founder of Hunter Powell Investments, input into The Biz again this year in his role as MC. He’s an experienced chairman and director and has a long history of supporting New Zealand businesses.”
Michael adds: “The event will inspire business owners with case studies on how to pursue growth and connections and give them key actions for success to take away.”
The Biz attracted more than 2,100 business across 10 regional events in 2015.
