Record Number of Wanaka Operators Attending TRENZ 2016

Record Number of Wanaka Operators Attending TRENZ 2016

Wanaka, New Zealand (Thursday 4 May, 2016) – A total of 15 Wanaka based companies will be heading to TRENZ this year, making it the largest contingent of operators from the region to ever attend New Zealand tourism industry’s premier international trade show.

First time attendees Wildwire Wanaka, Paddle Wanaka, Ultimate Wanaka and Lime Tree Lodge will showcase their new products alongside more seasoned attendees, to more than 350 international travel and tourism buyers attending this year’s event in Rotorua, 10-13 May 2016.

Wanaka’s latest activity Wildwire, is exhibiting at TRENZ after a successful launch in December 2015. Located at the gateway to Mt Aspiring National Park, Wildwire allows people to climb straight up one of the region’s most iconic waterfalls and will enable many to now easily, experience the thrill of climbing on New Zealand’s only assisted waterfall climb.

Another New Zealand first, Paddle Wanaka’s ‘Ride the River’ is the only stand up paddle board guided tour in the country to take place on a river. The trip gives participants the opportunity to explore the beautiful Upper Clutha from a different perspective, with the added thrill of taking on some fun, low grade rapids.

Confidence in the tourism industry has also seen many established Wanaka businesses investing significantly in new products or product improvements, with the complete refurbishment at Edgewater, and a new helicopter for Wilkin River Jets.
Business Development Executive Geoff Marks is pleased to see such a great response from local operators.
