[Auckland, NZ, Los Angeles, CA], May 23rd 2016]: Vista Group International Ltd, the world’s leading software provider to the global film industry providing software solutions for studios, distributors, exhibitors, and moviegoers internationally, has won the prestigious ‘PwC Hi-Tech Company of the Year’ award at the 2016 New Zealand Hi-Tech Awards gala. The award was presented to Murray Holdaway, CEO of Vista Group International.
Celebrating New Zealand’s most successful high-tech companies and individuals, the New Zealand Hi-Tech Awards is the most prestigious technology sector competition in New Zealand and reflects the reputation, strength and the global success of New Zealand tech companies. Vista Group join, et al, past winners Xero, Orion Health and Compac.
Vista Group was selected over significant competition from finalists ARANZ Geo, Orion Health, and Serko. In selecting Vista Group as the winner the judges said: "Vista Group demonstrated strong growth with an offering that truly has worldwide potential. They have a well thought out and tailored product, with vast market knowledge and a fantastic understanding of their target market. They have a great management team that hasn’t been afraid to go hard to secure deals around the world, while also forging key partnerships in China. Vista Group are a great example of a Kiwi company taking on the world and winning."

An additional highlight to the evening’s award ceremony was the success of Vista Group company, Movio. Named the winner of the ‘Innovative Hi-Tech Software Product’ category, Movio were presented the award over other high-caliber competition from finalists that included Orion Health, Timely, and Vend. Movio are recognised as the global leader in marketing data, analysis, insights, and campaign creation and management for theatrical exhibitors, studios and film distributors.
The cross-border global nature of the business of movies has resulted in Vista Group businesses enjoying customer relationships in multiple countries around the world. Vista Cinema software, developed by Vista Entertainment Solutions, is installed in more than 70 countries.
