Wild Strait Performance Intelligence a finalist

Wild Strait Performance Intelligence a finalist in the 2016 Wellington Gold Awards

Wild Strait’s software performance product Wild Strait Performance Intelligence has been selected as a finalist in the Wellington Gold Awards. The finalists were announced at a 2016 Gold Awards Finalists event held last Thursday night at Te Wharewaka o Poneke in Wellington waterfront.

Wild Strait Performance Intelligence has been selected as a finalist in the Discovering Gold category which recognises innovative research and development projects that came to market in 2015.

As a new software performance product Wild Strait Performance Intelligence is used by performance testers and developers to substantially reduce the time and cost required to ensure that web-based business systems are stable and respond quickly.

After the announcement Wild Strait General Manager Shane Ross stated “With increasing numbers of organisations implementing digital strategies, software performance in terms of stability and response time become critical to customer uptake and satisfaction. This is an important growth area and it is fantastic for Wild Strait to be recognised as a Wellington innovator making a difference in this area.”

“Today software is being developed in short-cycle Agile and DevOps development lifecycles, requiring incredibly rapid performance testing of each application release. Wild Strait Performance Intelligence has been designed for this rapid environment, automatically generating and re-generating performance test scripts from a test model and using business intelligence visualisation to quickly diagnose performance issues from volumes of test results data” says Ross.

Wild Strait Performance Intelligence was researched and developed by IT consultancy Equinox IT and launched as part of the Wild Strait company in September 2015 at an event keynoted by Xero’s Rod Drury.

The name Wild Strait pays tribute to the city in which the company and product were created, referring to Wellington’s rugged and stunning proximity to the wild Cook Strait.

Wild Strait also recently became a Microsoft Visual Studio Industry Partner and the Wild Strait Performance Intelligence product extends the Visual Studio platform, and can be used to performance test a wide range of web-based technologies.

Showing the outstanding standard of entries in the awards, the other finalists in the Discovering Gold category included Organic Dynamic - a sustainable wooden surfboard, SilverStripe Platform – a common web platform based on the SilverStripe CMS, and UBCO – a 2x2 all-electric farm bike.

Gold Award winners will be announced at The 2016 Wellington Gold Awards event at TSB Bank Arena on 30 June 2016.
