Chapman Tripp is pleased to announce ten senior promotions in the firm’s Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch offices. The appointments are effective from 1 June 2016.
Senior associates
Kirsten Todd, Corporate, Christchurch
Kirsten specialises in corporate and commercial law with a particular focus in banking and finance, insolvency and restructuring, commercial contracts, and statutory and regulatory compliance. She advises a variety of clients across a range of sectors including primary industries, the financial services sector and government agencies.
Asha Trotter, Corporate, Wellington
Asha specialises in financial services regulation and corporate law. Asha advises a wide range of financial markets participants on the regulatory landscape applicable to their business. She has also advised on a number of major IPOs, corporate restructurings and corporate governance matters.
Luke Ford, Finance, Auckland
Luke specialises in banking and finance law, with a particular focus on capital markets. He advises clients on a broad range of transactions, including Kauri issues, retail bond offers, derivatives and the impact of the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013. He has also assisted with applications to, and discussions with, regulators including the Financial Markets Authority.
Phoebe Gibbons, Financial Services, Auckland
Phoebe specialises in securities and commercial law, particularly in the funds management and insurance sectors. She advises clients, including banks, fund managers and insurers on all aspects of financial services compliance and regulatory matters, as well as mergers and acquisitions and corporate restructurings. She advises clients on the Financial Markets Conduct Act and the practical implications for their businesses.

Daniel specialises in commercial dispute resolution, regulatory investigations and insurance. He advises clients on contract and commercial disputes, including company directors’, auditors’ and officers’ liability, and regulatory cases involving the New Zealand Competition Commission, Financial Markets Authority, Serious Fraud Office and Inland Revenue Department.
Peter Sygrove, Property, Auckland
Peter specialises in all aspects of commercial property law, with a particular focus on commercial office leasing and retail development leasing, due diligence investigations and large commercial property developments. He advises clients on the acquisition and disposal of real estate, including regulation of overseas investment in land under the Overseas Investment Act.
