Eurovintage and Renaissance to partner in New Zealand
Eurovintage and Renaissance to partner in New Zealand
FOR IMMEDIATE DISTRIBUTION - 13th July 2016
One of the pioneers of craft brewing in New Zealand, Renaissance Brewing, are excited to announce that from July 1st they will be working in partnership with Eurovintage, one of New Zealand’s leading distributors of premium wine, spirits and beers.
The national distribution partnership will broaden Renaissance’s sales reach domestically and provide Eurovintage with an established range of award winning craft beers to offer their array of customers around the country.
Brian Thiel, Director and Founder of Renaissance, said of the appointment;
“After we won 3 Champion Brewery awards in a row we focused a little more on growing the export side of the business, so strategically it was important to reassess what we did here at home. The general outcome was that our brand was well regarded, but our existing sales model had taken us as far as it could and that we were missing huge opportunities because of our lack of sales partners on the ground.”
“Fortuitously, an introduction to Eurovintage came from our bankers, the ANZ, and it quickly became evident that our two companies had shared values on how to partner and build brands. We feel our beers compliment the great portfolio Eurovintage has and in turn they have the clout to take our national sales to the next level.”
Over the last 6 months Renaissance has worked to improve its domestic offering with a rebrand of the original Renaissance labels to make them more prominent on shelf, 330ml variants for restaurants and cafes including Empathy – its lower alcohol beer and the Boonies range of beer in 6 packs for grocery and traditional liquor customers.
Eurovintage Chief Executive Nick Hern, said of the appointment. “We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Renaissance to the Eurovintage portfolio of brands. The extraordinary growth enjoyed by the Craft Beer category over the last couple of years shows no sign of slowing down and our customers are demanding that we have a credible New Zealand craft beer offering. Renaissance will complement our existing international beer portfolio and for Eurovintage to now be able to offer such a dynamic range of craft beer from one of the country’s most respected brewers; is something we’re hugely excited about.”
Thiel concluded; “I would like to thank those partners who have worked with us over the years and although it is with a little sadness that we move on from these great people, unfortunately change was a necessity to ensure we have an ongoing sustainable business as the craft beer business continues to grow in maturity. I and the Renaissance team personally wish them all the best for the future.”
