Resn Caps Off Awards Wins with Even More Awards

- For Immediate Release -

June 24, 2016

Wellington, New Zealand - Resn, the creative digital agency, has scooped up numerous international advertising awards over the last two months. Most recently, its projects have had considerable success at the Cannes Lions, rounding out an awards season which saw the agency’s work win Webbys, One Show, D&ADs, Andys, Axis and AWARD Awards. Managing Director Rik Campbell said “We’re not sure exactly how many awards our work has won. It’s somewhere between heaps and a whole slew.”

Resn played a key role in Y&R New Zealand’s McWhopper campaign. McWhopper picked up so many Cannes Lions that mathematicians are working around the clock to calculate the final results. The campaign also received nine D&AD pencils, five One Show pencils, a gold and the Grandy at the Andy Awards, eight Axis Awards and 14 AWARD Awards. Another Resn campaign, Subaru: Who We Are Is What We Leave Behind, with Carmichael Lynch, received Silver and Bronze Cannes Lions and a One Show Bronze Pencil.

Resn did not attend any of the awards in person. Instead, the agency delivered a video taped acceptance speech on a VHS cassette. Mr. Campbell explained, “Since technological change has been so rapid in recent years and we’re not sure if the rest of the world has kept pace with New Zealand, we used VHS to ensure that technology wasn’t a barrier to accessing the speech. Ironically, they didn’t have the equipment to play it. Last year we tried laser disc and the same thing happened. I mean, how far back do we have to go? Stone tablets?”

About Resn: Resn is a creative digital agency. Since 2004, Resn has worked at the frontier of interactive development and design, partnering with some of the world’s best known brands, to become one of the most awarded digital agencies in the Metaverse. http://resn.co.nz
