Panhead Custom Ales Supports the Apra Silver Scroll Awards
APRA AMCOS is pleased to announce that it’s partnering up with Wellington’s Panhead Custom Ales as a sponsor for the 2016 APRA Silver Scroll Awards.
Launched in 2013 in an old Dunlop tyre factory in Upper Hutt, Panhead has gone on to establish itself as one of the country’s premier brewers of craft beer. It prides itself on applying every bit of skill, creativity and impeccable taste to the business of brewing great craft beer.
It’s an ethos that fits perfectly with the skill, creativity and impeccable taste that has always been the driving force in New Zealand’s songwriting community. And of course, the foundations for the most coveted prize in Kiwi music - the APRA Silver Scroll Award.
Like all good Kiwi start-ups, Panhead stillapplies the ‘number 8 wire’ approach to business, with Chief Beer Engineer Mike Neilson employing a resourcefulness honed building hotrods to strip back, rebuild and pimp out a beer anyway he sees fit. “We love to strip a brew back to its essence and rebuild it in a way that honours tradition as well as the alchemy of creation.”
In keeping with the ‘big OE’ spirit that has seen local musicians take their craft global, Panhead is also on a quest to share its greatness with the world. “While we’ll always call Upper Hutt home, Panhead knows that crappy beer is an international problem, so we’re colonising the globe as fast as we can. Australia has got the message already. Rest of the world - you’ve been warned.”
APRA AMCOS’ Anthony Healey welcomes Panhead Custom Ales as the newest sponsor of the 2016 Silver Scroll Awards. “We are thrilled to have the support of Panhead – a brewery with a legendary reputation for quality. Panhead turns out beers bursting with character; New Zealand turns out songwriters bursting with character. It’s the perfect partnership.”
The APRA Silver Scroll Awards will be held on September 29, 2016 at Vector Arena in Auckland.
