International Cyber Security Expert Joins Aura InfoSec
Aura InfoSec has appointed leading Cyber Security and Information Warfare expert Paul W. Poteete to the position of Principal Consultant (Virtual Security Officer).
Poteete has more than 20 years’ experience in the cyber-security space. He began his career in the U.S. Department of Defense (Army and Navy) where he worked as a researcher involving Cyberwarfare, Information Warfare, International Terrorism, Information Operations, and various other research and development functions.
During this time, he was also part of the Cooperative Operations and Applied Science and Technology Programme (aka Coalition Operating Area Surveillance and Targeting Systems Programme) and was trained in Russian Linguistics and Intelligence by the U.S. Army.
More recently, he served as the CISO and CIO at prominent firms in the United States, and taught Information Security, Forensics, and Leadership at Abu Dhabi Women's College in the U.A.E.
Aura InfoSec General Manager, Peter Bailey, says the appointment of Poteete brings a unique international perspective on implementing security best practice to the Aura InfoSec team.

Poteete is a respected thought leader and industry commentator and has presented papers in Washington DC, Atlanta, San Francisco, San Jose, Monterey, Los Angeles, Hawaii, Thailand, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and New Zealand on everything from information warfare and terrorism to enterprise technology.
He holds a Master of Science in Information Systems and Operations from the United States Naval Postgraduate School, and several undergraduate degrees ranging from the Arts and Foreign Languages to Information Technology. During his time at the Naval Postgraduate School he worked on numerous advanced educational research and applied science joint operations programs involving multiple governments.
Poteete lives in Wellington with his wife and two children.
