The Warehouse tasks Kiwis with designing its new look reusable bags
The Warehouse has launched its annual design competition, scouting the country for a new design to feature on its reusable shopping bags.
Entrants are invited to come up with a design that captures an eco-friendly view of New Zealand and inspires more shoppers to embrace reusable bags.
The new-look bags will be available from next year and 20 cents from every purchase will go towards The Warehouse local neighbourhood community organisations, as part of its Bags for Good programme.
The Warehouse Executive GM for Community and Environment Paul Walsh says:
“Last year, sales from our reusable bags contributed more than $11,500 towards local neighbourhood community organisations throughout New Zealand.
“The fantastic designs that come through as part of the competition play a big part in this, and are a great motivation for shoppers to opt for reusable bags at the counter.”
The winner will take home a $1,000 The Warehouse gift card and have their design feature on thousands of reusable shopping bags to be sold in all 92 The Warehouse stores.
The competition opens for entries between 06 - 25 September 2016, and winners will be announced in October.
To enter the competition, all designs must be hand-drawn using a marker pen on the template found at www.thewarehouse.co.nz/bagdesign
Entries can then be scanned and emailed to competitions@thewarehouse.co.nz. As well as the winner taking home a $1,000 The Warehouse gift card, each of the two finalists will also receive a $300 and $200 The Warehouse gift card respectively.
