Jetstar means business with new flexible fares

Jetstar has today launched a new flexible fare to make the travelling experience easier for the growing number of budget conscious business travellers in New Zealand.

The new FlexiBiz bundle allows business travellers to move their flight earlier or later for free on the day of travel, take extra carry-on baggage and select an upfront seat at no extra charge.

The FlexiBiz bundle includes:

• Free flight change on day of travel, for day of travel (subject to availability, up until check-in closes)

• One carry-on bag (7kg) + one additional under-seat bag

• Upfront or standard seat selection (normally a fee)

• Credit voucher refund provided if booking cancelled by customer (valid towards a new booking within 6 months of issue)

• Earn Qantas Points and Status Credits (NZ domestic flights only)

• $10 menu voucher on jet services (NZ domestic flights only)

The bundle can be added to any Jetstar Starter fare on domestic and international services and is available for sale from today exclusively through Jetstar’s Business Hub website using a New Zealand Business Number (NZBN).

Prices are an additional $21-$25 for domestic flights, $39 for short-haul international flights and $55 for long-haul international flights on top of the Starter fare

Jetstar Group Chief Executive Officer Jayne Hrdlicka said the airline was responding to feedback from small to medium size businesses who want to save money but want more flexibility and some value-added extras.

“We have a growing number of travellers flying with us for business who are happy to fly on a low cost carrier but they often need to make changes to their flights on the day of travel,” Ms Hrdlicka said.

“If a business meeting finishes earlier or later than planned, customers can change their flight time that day without being charged a change fee or fare difference. If their plans change and they don’t need to fly at all, they can receive a full voucher to be used towards booking another flight within six months.”

“Small business owners and sole traders will find our new FlexiBiz product provides them with much more flexibility and a few other on-board extras at a very good price.”

Ms Hrdlicka said Jetstar was expecting strong demand from small and medium size businesses.

“While the majority of customers travel with us for leisure purposes, on particular routes during peak times we see a significant number of customers travelling for business.

“Qantas is well-established in the premium corporate travel market, and we want to complement this by ensuring that the other end of the business market is well-catered for. This is part of our dual-brand strategy, where each airline focuses on specific market segments.”

“Our aim is to further grow our market share of the price-sensitive business market,” added Ms Hrdlicka.

FlexiBiz fares are available for purchase from today for travel from 12 September 2016 for businesses who have registered at Jetstar’s Business Hub website. Full details are at Jetstar.com/flexibiz
