TV3 Wins Thursday & Friday Nights, Mediaworks’ News & Current Affairs Properties Deliver Strong Results
TV3’s Friday night line-up once again won the evening for the channel, with a clean sweep of programme wins making it the most popular Free To Air channel in its target demographic of viewers aged 25-54, as well as 18-39 and 18-49.
This stellar result was driven by Jono and Ben, The Graham Norton Show, 7 Days, Fail Army and Newshub Late all winning their timeslots with 25-54, 18-49 and 18-39 year olds – and Household Shoppers with Kids.
Thursday evening saw a similar result with TV3 winning the night among viewers aged 25-54.
Leading this victory, documentary series Lost & Found won its timeslot in the 25-54 and 18-49 demographics, revealing the heart-wrenching story of Tahiti-born Kiwi ‘Isabelle’s’ search for her missing mother. This was followed by Holiday Horrors Caught on Camera winning its timeslot in the same demographics.
On weekday mornings Paul Henry has continued its strong performance, winning its timeslot on Monday and Thursday in TV3’s target demographic of viewers aged 25-54 as well as 18-39, 18-49 and Household Shoppers with Kids.
TV3’s current affairs programme Story delivered similarly strong results Monday to Thursday, maintaining a close gap with its competitor. Story drew a total weekly audience of 347,000 to 369,000 on Seven Sharp in the key commercial demographic of 25-54.
In the online space, Newshub’s digital platforms have continued to move from strength to strength, with last week marking the highest weekly video stream and page views for the year to date across web and the Newshub app.
On Radio, The Edge's most recent Four Strangers and a Wedding couple, Sade and Aaron, celebrated their first anniversary on Saturday. The pair moved to Vietnam earlier this year and plan to move to Cambodia next month. They are the fourth Four Strangers and a Wedding couple to be married by The Edge, who have so far, had a 100 per cent success rate. The first couple, Paula and Zane Nicholl, have been married for 17 years.
