Zespri announces senior appointments in marketing and global supply

Zespri is pleased to announce the appointments of Jiunn Shih as General Manager Marketing based in Singapore and Sheila McCann-Morrison as General Manager Global Supply.

Chief Executive Lain Jager explains that the broad global experience of both Mr Shih and Ms McCann-Morrison will be invaluable as Zespri continues to grow both its sales and global production. The position of General Manager Marketing reports to the President – Global Sales and Marketing, Daniel Mathieson and General Manager Global Supply reports to Chief Operating Officer, Simon Limmer.

“Jiunn Shih joins us from Unilever as Senior Global Marketing Director based out of Holland where he leads the global Tea and Desserts categories for Unilever's out-of-home food service business. Jiunn’s diverse cultural background and broad marketing experience across multiple international markets will be critical as we continue to grow and drive excellence into our global marketing strategy and approach,” says Mr Jager.

Mr Shih holds an MBA from Singapore INSEAD and spent most of his career at Unilever, holding senior positions including Regional Marketing Capabilities Lead for Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East in the Food Solutions division in Singapore, and Channel Marketing Director in China. He was born in Taiwan and his family moved to Brazil, where he spent most of his childhood.

Mr Jager explains Mrs McCann-Morrison has exceptional experience in the global fruit industry with a career spanning over 25 years and several continents.

“Our 12-month global supply business is poised for significant growth, with many exciting strategic opportunities to pursue and Sheila’s global perspective and experience will help shape this new direction,” says Mr Jager.

Mrs McCann-Morrison joins Zespri from Chiquita Brands in Switzerland where she led the sales and marketing teams of Germany, Austria and Switzerland as Regional Director. Prior to this she spent several years as Chiquita’s Director of Innovation & Packaging in both Europe and Latin America. Sheila began her working life with Dole living and working in Colombia and Costa Rica, spending 10 years in a variety of functional roles until 2000, where she had the responsibility as General Manager – Dole Fresh Cut Vegetables.

Mrs McCann-Morrison is originally from the US, speaks several languages and holds an MBA from Harvard.
