NZCU Auckland receives coveted award at industry event
AUCKLAND, 21 SEPTEMBER 2016: NZCU Auckland, a credit
union offering a large range of financial services, was
awarded the coveted People Helping People award at the
sector’s Gala Awards Dinner 2016, hosted by Co-op Money
NZ, the industry body representing co-operatively owned
credit unions and mutual building societies in New Zealand.
The Gala Awards Dinner was held on the 17th September 2016
at The Novotel Ellerslie, Auckland.
The People Helping People award is presented to the credit union that has made a significant and positive impact in their community. Over the last 50 years, NZCU Auckland has helped thousands of individual members in a variety of ways including offering exceptional service, sound advice and going the extra mile when needed.
Appropriately, NZCU Auckland’s Net Promoter Score (NPS), the measure used across many industries to understand the loyalty of customers and how likely they are to recommend the organisation to family and friends, has continued to be upwards of +68 in the last few years. Globally, an NPS of +50 is considered an excellent score across industry types.
For the seventh consecutive year, NZCU Auckland has also awarded twenty school scholarships to children and grandchildren of its members. This annual scholarship has become a permanent fixture in the community’s calendar.
The Co-op Money NZ Gala Awards Dinner was attended by over 130 credit union leaders from all over New Zealand. The Gala Awards Dinner was preceded by the Co-op Money NZ 2016 Annual Conference, which brought together credit union and mutual building society participants to discuss matters relevant to the sector.
Independently owned by their members for their members, credit unions and mutual building societies provide a wide range of financial services, like savings accounts, loans and insurance. Profits made by these organisations are returned to the members in a combination of ways, such as fairer fees and interest rates with community involvement.
