Energy efficient buildings ideas on offer at Facilities Integrate show
Commercial landlords can learn about future-proofing their buildings at New Zealand’s dedicated trade show for the facilities management industry in November.
The NZ Green Building Council (NZGBC) is partnering with the Facilities Integrate Show on November 3-4 at Auckland’s ASB Showgrounds to highlight of the advantages of energy efficient buildings.
Drew Roberts, Account Manager NABERSNZ, Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA), said commercial landlords and tenants had a lot to gain by improving the energy performance of their building and NABERSNZ is a great way to start that work.
NABERSNZ is run by the NZGBC, in partnership with EECA. It is an independent measurement and rating tool that benchmarks the energy performance of commercial office buildings in New Zealand.
“NABERSNZ helps landlords identify improvements they can make to save energy and that makes their building more attractive to tenants,” Mr Roberts says.
“A building with a high NABERSNZ certified rating is more likely to attract high value tenants who will pay a premium for an energy efficient building – research in Australia shows up to 8% more.
“Undertaking a Certified Rating helps reduce costs, save energy and improve comfort.”
Facilities Integrate, now in its second year, is a trade-only event. It showcases building management, IT and related industries, bringing together the people who make buildings smarter, safer, and more efficient.
About NABERSNZ:
NABERSNZ
provides a benchmark for energy performance against other
buildings across New Zealand. The starting point for many
businesses is the free online self-assessment tool, which
provides a feel for how the building might rate. A Certified
Rating is an in-depth assessment, providing a publishable
official rating. Certified Ratings range from 0 to 6
stars.
