New Zealand Joins Global Entrepreneurship Celebration
New Zealand has become part of a global entrepreneurship ecosystem of more than 160 countries celebrating the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare.
During one week, each November, Global Entrepreneurship Week inspires people everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as self-starters and innovators.
GEW will be celebrated from 14 to 20 November 2016 with events inspiring entrepreneurs, students, policymakers and academics to engage in entrepreneurship and connect them to mentors, new talent or investors.
Dave Moskovitz, who is driving GEW in New Zealand, is excited about the future of our involvement.
‘New Zealand is joining the festival for the first time in a number of years, says Dave. We have 20 events this year and plan on growing GEW NZ over the next 2 years to hundreds of events celebrating entrepreneurship’.
What is Global Entrepreneurship Week
Global Entrepreneurship Week was created in 2008 and is powered by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.
GEW is the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth, and expand human welfare. During one week, each November, thousands of events and competitions around the world inspire millions to engage in entrepreneurial activity while connecting them to potential collaborators, mentors, and even investors. Each year it empowers roughly 25 million people through more than 25,000 activities, and is supported by dozens of world leaders and a network of 10,000 partner organizations.
