Counting down to the Top 200

Counting down to the Top 200

9 November 2016

High performing Kiwi business leaders are counting down the days until this year’s Deloitte Top 200 Awards are announced on 1 December, and MinterEllisonRuddWatts is once again proud sponsor of the Excellence in Governance Award.

The Excellence in Governance Award recognises outstanding performance in organisational governance, with the award winner evaluated against criteria determined with the Institute of Directors and aligned with the New Zealand Securities Commission Corporate Governance Principles and Guidelines. Finalists for the MinterEllisonRuddWatts Excellence in Governance Award are:

- Nuplex - a leading chemical manufacturer of coating and composite resins

- ACC - the Government’s workplace accident insurance company

- Dr Lester Levy - renown adjunct professor, chairman and director

Chair of MinterEllisonRuddWatts and a Top 200 award judge, Cathy Quinn is inspired by the calibre of entries and the theme of this year’s Top 200 - Investing in the Future.

"We see these awards as the premier business awards in New Zealand and we are delighted to be associated with them. For us it's a night to put aside individual and company competitiveness and to recognise excellence and success in our business community. It's a night to be proud to be a kiwi as we reflect on the success of others in our business and governance community,"says Cathy Quinn.

"We sponsor the Governance Award because we believe thatgood governance is unquestionably key to business success and ultimately the prosperity of our nation. Poor or bad governance leads to business failure and organisations not meeting their potential. It requires individuals to stand up at times, and sometimes it requires individuals to stand against the tide. We are proud to support those that are getting it right."

The awards showcase the Top 200 largest New Zealand businesses based on revenue performance, as well as an additional list of the country’s Top 30 financial enterprises assessed by asset value. Winners will be announced at a black-tie awards dinner on 1 December at Vector Arena, Auckland.
