Auckland salon, Hairnow on Apollo, has won 2016 Boutique Salon of the Year at the Kitomba NZARH Business Awards. Auckland salon owner, Carolyn Berry, is a first time entrant of the Business Awards making the achievement even more remarkable.
The Business Awards judges were impressed by Hairnow on Apollo’s all round business model and look forward to seeing what the future holds for a business that is clearly in growth mode.
Last night Carolyn and her team celebrated their win in their hometown of Auckland along with over 300 hairdressers, barbers and beauty therapists at the 2016 Industry Awards. The annual awards are a collaboration between Kitomba Salon Software, the New Zealand Association of Registered Hairdressers (NZARH) and the New Zealand Hair and Beauty Industry Training Organisation (HITO).
Tom Murphy, CEO of Kitomba explains “the Industry Awards are made up of two distinct areas - business and training awards. The Kitomba NZARH Business Awards, now in their eleventh year, celebrate the idea that our industry has many great businesses, that we can inspire each other to excel and improve, and that recognising and celebrating business excellence and success is good for us all.”
Founded in 2006, the Kitomba NZARH Business Awards, were created to build a culture of recognising and celebrating business excellence in the New Zealand hairdressing industry. Since 2010, the Business Awards have been celebrated together with the HITO Training Awards. The collaboration focuses on rewarding both excellence in business and training in the New Zealand hair and beauty industries.
Held at The Langham Hotel in Auckland, the evening started out with a bang as one of Paris Goebel’s Royal Family hip hop dance crews performed for the crowd. Guests then enjoyed a night of celebration as the awards were announced and accompanied by fabulous food and wine. The evening ended as the Tall Poppies band got everyone up on the dance floor to enjoy their success.
