Fantail Network Symposium to give inspiration and thought provocation for women in business
Women from all walks of business will converge in Auckland on Friday 25 November to attend the Fantail Network’s MINDMATTER Symposium.
The second in a series of ground-breaking symposiums created by the Fantail Network Trust, MINDMATTER is designed to inspire real change in women’s lives – both personal and professional by building confidence in women and engaging them in expansive thinking.
“We know that striving to be your best by knowing your potential and capacity IS real confidence. We want women to immerse themselves in this unique half day symposium listening to inspiring speakers and presentations, learning life hacks and being stimulated by a few surprises.
“Our goal is to ensure that women are engaged in expansive thinking and to have the ability to transform intentions into action and inventions into reality, to grow ideas, build confidence and networks, and be equipped to embrace change,” says Fantail Network Trust’s co-founders Jane Kennelly and Kathy McCombe.
The Fantail Network Trust was established in 2014 to support, connect and enable women in business with a particular focus on technology, innovation and entrepreneurship. “We bring together diverse and innovative people who share a passion for business and who want to stretch their thinking,” adds Kennelly.
The MINDMATTER symposium keynote speakers include Lisa King, founder of Eat My Lunch, an organisation King created based on her belief that clever business solutions can solve big social issues. For every lunch bought, a lunch is donated to a Kiwi kid in need and in 16 short months, Eat My Lunch has made more than 500,000 lunches and given 270,000 to children in low decile schools throughout Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington.
Other speakers include Lisa Gunnery, Chief Executive of The Hunger Project; Emmett Vallender and Sam Cable, winners of the Block NZ 2016; and Fiona Colgan, General Manager of digital at ASB, speaking about her story and the latest digital trends.
Quick-fire sessions on life hacks -
strategies to manage time and activities more efficiently
– also feature in the programme, with attendees able to
choose their preferred topic from a selection including
blogging, apps to make your life easier, how to optimise
your LinkedIn profile and public speaking.
