Villa Maria launches wine helpline

Immediate Release

Villa Maria launches wine helpline

Do you have a burning wine related question? New Zealand’s most awarded winery launches #VillaMariaHelpline service to help Kiwis with their wine queries when it comes to pairing or gifting during the festive season.

If you’re wondering how to impress the boss with a penchant for premium wines, what to serve at an afternoon barbeque or how long to chill a Rosé, #VillaMariaHelpline provides a team of experienced food and wine experts, headed by Villa Maria’s Chief Winemaker Nick Picone and Executive Chef Robert Baxter who are at the ready to answer those pressing questions.

Nick says the company chose to launch its helpline service to ease the fear and anxiety many people have around wine selection.

“We put a lot of effort into the Christmas season and ultimately we aim to impress family and friends,” says Nick. “But, unless we’re wine connoisseurs, it can be daunting finding that perfect wine to gift or match with food. The Villa Maria Helpline has been designed to support New Zealanders with their decision making and ease any stress over the festive season and New Year celebrations.”

To call on the Villa Maria Helpline service, simply tag #VillaMariaHelpline with a wine related question via a personal Facebook, Instagram or Twitter account and one of Villa Maria’s trusted wine and food connoisseurs will respond.

Villa Maria is uniquely positioned to offer this service by not only being New Zealand’s most awarded winery but also having recently won the Wine Society (Australia) Perpetual Trophy for Most Successful Winery in the Sydney International Wine Competition that judges wines based on their compatibility with food.

As an icon of the New Zealand wine industry, Villa Maria is known for bold and industry-changing moves such as switching to 100% screwcap through to the emphasis on sustainable practices in every area of the family owned company.

The #VillaMariaHelpline service runs for four weeks from Friday 9 December 2016 to Friday 6 January 2017.
