Securely Ready for Next-Gen Tech

MEDIA RELEASE

Securely Ready for Next-Gen Tech

New Zealand, Thursday 9 May - Technology that New Zealand has depended on for more than 120 years will be replaced by Spark from early next year, changing the way we talk to each other, and in some cases the way we use and monitor our security services.

Spark recently revealed that from 2018 a new voice service will combine landlines, mobile, video and data calls in one, replacing the old Public Switched Telephone Network that was last upgraded more than 30 years ago.

Kapiti and Horowhenua are ready to make the jump to next-generation technology says Securely’s National Business Development Manager, Chris Barber.

“We have great access to mobile and fibre networks, with fibre rolled out to many parts of our local community. The good news is the switch to mobile technology is simple if you take a few easy steps now. As long as you can access a mobile network, your security and independence alarms can still work.

“A simple piece of tech can sit behind your current alarm panel, and diverts your signal over a mobile network. This means your alarm will continue to be monitored with no disruption, but with all the benefits that monitoring over a mobile network offers: better security, faster support, better flexibility, and all part of a smarter home controlled by you.

“Our Independence Monitors already operate on the mobile network and don’t require a landline to work - so there no changes required here. We are working to enhance your lifestyle, while giving you control over your security with state of the art technologies” says Chris Barber.
