Verifi launch Cloudcheck Live

Leading local Electronic Identity Verification provider and RegTech company Verifi Identity Services (‘Verifi’) have today announced the release of Cloudcheck Live.

Cloudcheck Live enables entities captured under the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) Act 2009 to simulate a face to face experience online by capturing images of their customer’s face and their identity document, and enable them to create a link between the customer and the identity document.

“Cloudcheck Live is the just start of the next evolution of Cloudcheck and demonstrates exactly why we have been selected as a finalist in the Most Innovative Business category of The David Awards” says Verifi’s Managing Director Vincent McCartney.

The recently passed AML/CFT Amendment Bill will usher in “Phase 2” of New Zealand’s AML/CFT laws. Phase 2 will bring a number of industries into the AML/CFT regime during a phased implementation period starting with Lawyers and Conveyancers in July 2018, followed by Accountants and Real Estate Agents shortly thereafter.

“With the advent of phase 2 we are committed to bringing new solutions to market to make meeting regulatory obligations easier and more cost effective,” explains McCartney, “Cloudcheck Live will enable a Reporting Entity to reduce their fraud risk and get further comfort that the customer is who they say they are, and combined with Cloudcheck Go the Reporting Entity can email a verification link to the customer to have them self-verify in their own time, therefore making the whole process pain free for the customer.”

Cloudcheck Live will initially be available free of charge until the end of the year.
