Family favourite gets 5 star safety rating
The next generation of the Holden Commodore will hit the
New Zealand market this month with a 5 star safety rating
from the Australasian New Car Assessment Programme
(ANCAP).
The new take on an old family favourite scored well across a range of crash tests, achieving an overall adult occupant protection score of 93 percent, and a child occupant protection score of 85 percent.
AA Motoring Services General Manager Stella Stocks says these results make the vehicle a safe pick for families.
“We’re increasingly seeing more family friendly vehicles on our roads that provide a good degree of protection for adults, children and other road users, which is good news for safety conscious buyers,” she says.
The ZB Holden Commodore comes equipped with a range of safety features including all three grades of Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Lane Keep Assist (LKA).
The 5 star rating applies to all 2018 Commodore variants including liftback, sportswagon and tourer models.
The full list of ANCAP’s vehicle safety ratings, other vehicle safety information and the specifications of the rated vehicles are available online at ancap.co.nz or rightcar.govt.nz.
ANCAP is supported by all Australian motoring clubs, the New Zealand Automobile Association, the Australian Government, the New Zealand Government, Australian state and territory governments, the Victorian Transport Accident Commission, NRMA Insurance and the FIA Foundation.
