Volution Group acquires leading ventilation company, Simx

UK-based manufacturing and distributing company, Volution Group has acquired Simx Limited - a leading New Zealand designer, manufacturer and supplier of residential ventilation products - for NZ$72 million.

The acquisition of Simx is in line with the Volution Group's strategy to grow by acquiring value-adding businesses in new markets and geographies across the residential and commercial ventilation markets.

MinterEllisonRuddWatts advised Simx’s shareholders as vendors on the deal, with Partner Mark Forman leading the firm’s transaction team.

"We are delighted to have helped the Simx shareholders broker this significant deal," says Mark Forman.

"With bases in Auckland and Christchurch, Simx has built a strong market reputation as the leading residential ventilation product provider in the New Zealand market. It has also been a trading partner of Volution Group for more than 20 years.

"The acquisition highlights the attractiveness of New Zealand companies internationally and their appeal as solid investment opportunities."

The firm’s deal team included partners Mark Forman, Steve Gallaugher and David Gilbert, senior associates Jo Carrick-Anderson and Amanda Spratt and Solicitor Syavie Gharmy.
