KiwiBuild kicks in!

The largest event for Chinese working in the Auckland property sector is well timed this week with the construction industry is growing rapidly due to increased spending on housing, offices and factories, road and rail links, and water supply. New Zealand Chinese Building Industry Association 2018 Annual Conference will be held in Auckland 27 July followed by the NZ International Property + Building Expo 28 & 29 July 2018 at the Vodafone Events Centre. This is the 3rd year and this year’s theme is ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship’ with KiwiBuild being the focus of the summit.

BIM expert, Lei Chen, Vice President, Shanghai Luban Software Co., Ltd arrived in New Zealand today to present an in depth case study and practise on cost management based on Building Information Modeling at the conference on Friday. He said, “I look forward to discussing an intelligent 3D model-based process which will give New Zealand architects, engineers, and construction professionals the insight and tools to work more efficiently to plan, design, construct, and manage buildings. His global experience includes utilising BIM technology on the landmark Shanghai Center, a luxury hotel, Airport Integrated Free Trade Zone Processing Centre and Disney International Tourism Resort.

The NZCBIA has created a unique platform with its annual Conference and Expo that has attracted the support of PlaceMakers, Avanda Group and others. There is free entry to the NZ International Property + Building Expo to be held 28 & 29 July 2018 at the Vodafone Events Centre with 120 exhibitors offering show specials.

Building and Housing Minister Phil Twyford, Labour housing spokesman Andrew Bayly and Mayor Phil Goff appear as invited guests on the programme.

Workshop topics cover the consent process, property market, design, residential construction and commercial construction. The KiwiBuild Summit, “From ideas to opportunities” is a forum for industry experts, professionals, government, and industry associations to discuss and debate the challenges and opportunities of KiwiBuild scheme by four NZCBIA KiwiBuild teams, ChangDa International, Babbage Consultants, Archiland Architecture and OZAC Architects.
