NZ Head of Pharmaceutical Company GSK Signals Move

The New Zealand head of one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies has signalled a move into governance roles.

Anna Stove, general manager of GSK NZ has significant global business experience and a successful track record in leading and driving transformational change within the healthcare sector.

Under Stove’s leadership, GSK NZ has become a major contributor towards the national immunisation program with their vaccines portfolio and successfully introduced new respiratory and HIV medicines, bringing significant benefit to patients in New Zealand - with market share in these key portfolio’s seen as one of GSK’s best performing globally.

Stove when based in London as Global Commercial Strategy Director , led the development of the company’s global Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) strategic direction and priorities, and drove the transformational change of a monotherapy approach to a portfolio of combinations,.

Herve Gisserot, SVP, Head of GSK Pharmaceuticals Intercontinental says Stove has been a highly effective leader throughout her career, driving change throughout her organisation and into the wider business community.

“I would like to acknowledge Anna for her strong, impactful leadership and determination in driving the business in New Zealand very successfully over the past years, often under complex circumstances.

“Anna is a person full of energy and has always sought to find new challenges and ways to make a difference within GSK. She has championed causes such as driving community partnerships across the region and lead on making GSK a more diverse and inclusive workplace for all, inspiring many of the people who have worked with her. I wish her all the very best in her future endeavors,” he says.

Stove will continue to lead the New Zealand organisation till the end of the year and as she transitions from the corporate environment will focus on growing businesses through best practice governance. In the meantime, a search for her successor has begun.
