Ocean Adventure blasts into the Bay of Islands

Ocean Adventure is Explore Groups latest product offering in the Bay of Islands. A new fast boat that will take passengers to the Hole in the Rock at speed, it’s the perfect balance of exploration and exhilaration and fulfils the demand for this type of experience within the Bay of Islands.

“We’re excited to have Ocean Adventure operating in the Bay of Islands as a faster alternative for passengers to visit the Hole in the Rock. We saw a real demand for people wanting to fit in as many activities into the time they have here, and this allows that.” says Explore Bay of Islands General Manager, Ross Brljevich.

Ocean Adventure will be operating from the 28th February on a daily basis. This eye-catching vessel, complete with state of the art ‘shark’ suspension seating for 30 passengers, has undergone an 18 month rebuild focused on passenger safety and comfort, and arrived in the Bay of Islands from Auckland on Wednesday afternoon.

Offering exhilarating tours through the islands within a return time of 1.5 hours. Ocean Adventure is highly anticipated to be one of the most exciting marine-based activities to enter the New Zealand tourism market in recent years.

William Goodfellow, Managing Director of Explore Group says “The decision to launch Ocean Adventure in the Bay of Islands shows the confidence we have in the region as a tourism destination. It’s very exciting to be launching this new experience today, we hope visitors and locals alike will enjoy a new exhilarating way to visit the Hole in the Rock”.

Explore Group welcomes all to come view Ocean Adventure. She will be moored at Paihia Wharf from the 27th February. Look for the bright yellow and black fast boat, you can’t miss her.
